The area around Kawgun Cave in Kayin State, Myanmar (Burma) can be a bit of a maze with many nooks and crannies to explore. Here, some kids were larking around some of the Buddha status, and I captured two of them having fun. Photo taken in December 2014.
It had been a long journey travelling by car from Yangon to Hpa An. At our destination, having unpacked, we explored the immediate vicinity of Hpa An and found a great place just as the sun was setting. Children were playing in the river, and an occasional boat would pass, but it was quiet and peaceful. A great end to the day.
It took a while to get there, but we eventually arrived at a remote Padaung village in Kayah State, Myanmar. Here, a woman who has clearly experienced life, was proudly displaying her coin necklace. She was a real character, and enjoyed the limelight.
