A traveller with a camera!
Bagan in Myanmar is home to hundreds of old Buddhist structures, mainly temples and pagodas. The landscape is littered with such structures. A good time to visit is during the larger religious events; I was there during the Ananda Pagoda Festival, a really busy and exciting occasion.
Heading into southern Iraq towards Basra in 2011, we travelled through the Iraqi Marshlands and came across a number of locals who had made their home here. It was a big contrast to the dry and dusty conditions that we had already travelled through to get here. Whilst we waited for a boat to take us across the waterways, I wandered over to a couple of huts along the water. A dog came out barking towards me, but a small girl followed the dog out and soon reigned it in. Another girl, who I presume was her sister due to their likeness, appeared out from these same huts with a welcoming smile, and I photographed her against the backdrop of the marshes.
Having explored the blue sectors of Jodhpur in India, we had a desire to explore other areas of the city, so took a walk from our hotel near Ghanta Ghar hoping to catch some interesting street scenes. This is a photo of a masked streetcleaner who was happy to have his photo taken.
Away from the blue districts of the Indian city of Jodhpur, the white Jaswant Thada memorial building stands in stark contrast to the imposing sunrise-infused red Mehrangarh Fort.
I was staying in Banyan Grove in Assam, India, for a couple of nights relaxing and visiting tea plantations. However, I also had the opportunity to explore a local village. Walking down the village main road, I made conversations with a number of folk when I spotted this man. I loved his look and the colours. Photo taken in December 2019.
